Common Indian Palm-Cat (Paradoxurus Hermaphroditus Hermaphroditus)

Description: This Palm-Cat has a grey coat with some darker grey markings on the back, and a plain black tail. The adult male, which is larger than the female, has an overall length of about 1 meter.
Distribution: Found throughout the island wherever there are rocks or trees. It is also found in town where it frequents the roofs of houses.
Habits: This Palm-Cat is almost entirely nocturnal spending the day lying up in some secluded spot. It is an excellent tree climber and its diet is more vegetarian than the Civet-Cat, eating fruits and berries, but also insects, frogs, lizards, birds and small animals. in captivity it has been known to live for 14 years.
Breeding: 3 or 4 young are born in a cavity in a large tree or amongst rocks, or in the roof of a house.
